1 – Double Minaret Mosque and Madrasa
In the inscription on the crown door; It is written that it was built in 1271 by Şemseddin Cüveyni, the vizier of the Ilkhanate. The madrasa, with its ornate crown door, is quite majestic and beautiful with its brick and tile-knitted minaret. Apart from its double minarets, which have survived to the present day, its other parts have undergone various restorations. The mosque, which is also one of the Seljuk masterpieces, draws attention with its two-storey and four-iwan structure. The mosque, which was also used as a madrasa, became one of the important centers where medical education was given in the period. As a hospital, many patients were cured, and the madrasah served like today’s medical faculties. The symbols of the sun and moon were engraved on the crown gate of the madrasah, which was built by Izzettin Keykavus I in 1218. With the burial of Izzettin Keykavus I, who died in 1220, the south side was turned into a tomb.
